Stocks Pare Early Losses But Still End Lower

The 3 main US stock indexes pared early losses but still ended Wednesday in the red. The Dow Jones lost the most at 0.48%, while the S&P dropped 0.29%. The Nasdaq was a negligible 0.03% down on Tuesday’s closing figure.

The Dow’s gains under Joe Biden have again dipped below 10%, while the Nasdaq’s gains remain below 1%. The S&P has gained more than 8% since inauguration day.

Biden has lost ground in his comparison with Donald Trump. Biden’s leads on the Dow and S&P have reduced by roughly 1% from yesterday, while Trump’s lead on the Nasdaq has increased by around 0.5%.

There has been a small change on the Biden and Barack Obama comparison after 120 days of their respective presidencies. All 3 indexes have moved marginally in Obama’s favor, meaning Biden’s lead on the S&P continues to diminish.
