Stocks Soar To End Poor Run

The 3 main US stock indexes all saw major gains today. The S&P enjoyed its biggest daily rise since June 2020 in gaining 2.38% on the day. The Nasdaq was up 3.01% and the Dow 1.95% which were their biggest daily increases since November.

This means that President Joe Biden is sitting much prettier in terms of stock market performance after 41 days in office.

Despite today’s impressive numbers, Biden still trails predecessor Donald Trump by a significant amount at the same point in their presidencies. Trump had seen the Dow gain over 5% more than Biden after 41 days, while his advantage on the Nasdaq and S&P is over 3%.

Biden has, however, done much better than George W. Bush had at this stage in his presidency. The Nasdaq has risen by almost 3% under Biden but had dropped by more than 21% after 41 days of Bush.
