Stocks Gain As Biden Retakes Lead Over Trump On Dow

All 3 US stock indexes closed Thursday slightly higher. The Dow led the charge, closing 0.62% higher. The S&P was up 0.52% and the Nasdaq up 0.12%.

Little has changed for President Joe Biden following today’s relatively insignificant gains. The Nasdaq remains more than 3.5% lower than when he took office, while the Dow remains more than 4.5% higher.

The performance of the Dow today has seen Biden retake the lead over Donald Trump after 65 days of their respective presidencies. The well-regarded index had gained 4.38% under Trump at this stage of his presidency. It has gained 4.59% under Biden. Biden continues to trail Trump by larger amounts on the S&P and Nasdaq.

Biden has lost a little ground on all 3 indexes compared to Barack Obama at the 65 day point of their presidencies. His lead on the Dow is down slightly but remains a healthy 11%, while his deficit on the Nasdaq has passed 3.5%.
