Biden Sees Position Compared to Trump Improve But Stocks Edge Down

All 3 of the main US stock indexes ended a little lower Monday. The Nasdaq lost the most at 0.38%. The Dow dropped 0.16% and the S&P 0.25%.

The Nasdaq continues to struggle under President Joe Biden and has gained less than 1.5% since he took office on January 20th. The Dow, by contrast, is up almost 11% from the same date.

Biden has, however, improved his position compared to Donald Trump since Friday. All 3 index comparisons have moved more than 1% in Biden’s favor. After 118 days of presidency, the Dow has gained around 11% under Biden but had gained less than 5% under Trump.

Biden has also improved his position compared to Barack Obama after 118 days of their respective presidencies, albeit by only a few tenths of a percent on each index.
